  • Reproduction antique effect bronze coloured pocket compass with chain and wooden presentation box.
  • A chain is attached to the compass and the compass can be opened by pressing a button on the top adding to it's nostalgic appearance.
  • The face of the compass has a lovely old effect dial adding further to the character and charm of this piece. The compass lists eight directions and is divided into 5 degree segments up to 360 degrees.
  • The lid of the compass is engraved with the name ' W. Ottway. London. 1915 '. W. Ottway were founded in 1640 in Ealing and established themselves by the late 1800's as manufacturers of scientific instruments which included Military, Naval and Astronomical Telescopes, Compasses and Microscopes and were the main contractors for the Admiralty, War Office, India Office and Colonies.
  • The compass measures: 6cms x 5cm x 1cm high.
  • The wooden storage case that accompanies the compass also has engraved upon a brass nameplate the words W. Ottway London 1915 and adding further character to this piece. 
  • The box measures: 7cms x 7cms x 4cms high.
